About Dr. Liedtke-Hendrickson
Dr. Hendrickson is a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in women's issues. She obtained her doctorate in Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology from the University of North Texas in 1989. She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from SFASU, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology from Baker University. Dr. Hendrickson has specialized training in eating disorders and obesity, medical illnesses, and stress management.
She has worked in the Mid-Cities area for 35 years in hospital, clinic, private practice, and corporate settings. She has also worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency as a Stress Management Specialist. She has extensive experience and training in individual and group therapy, consulting services, and program design and development for medical and psychological issues.
Dr. Hendrickson offers cognitive-behavioral treatment geared towards short-term, structured interventions for adult psychology issues, behavioral medicine/health psychology disorders, and corporate psychology issues. Dr. Hendrickson focuses on teaching concrete, behavioral, goal-oriented skills that can be easily transferred outside of therapy. Her therapeutic style is action-oriented and results-oriented. Talking is great - but action is better.
Dr. Hendrickson is actively involved in her community. She won Hurst's Citizen of the Year for the Women's Safety Awareness and Self-Defense Program she developed in partnership with the Hurst Police Department. She mentored high school students at L.D. Bell High School for several years, and has been recognized for her volunteer work in educating parents, students and school districts in recognizing the warning signs of and responding to suicide and homicide in schools.
